Hello, friends! Hope this finds you a little *extra sweet* after Valentines Day! Hard to believe it's time to put the pinks and reds away! Have to say, though,...I'm looking forward to those pretty, fresh colors of Spring. I've just finished up the 3rd gift I'll be giving away on the 20th and wanted to share...
I keep seeing these and hearing about them...was kinda wanting one myself, so I thought...maybe my blogging friends would like one, too! So here's the first of two...
An "Art Journal"! What do you think? Do you have one? Have you ever wanted one? And what exactly would you do with it if you did have one? Personally, I was wanting one to use more as a daily devotional journal, but I've made these covers around sketch books, so...no lines. I thought I would keep them open to more of the "Art Journal" style...since we're all artists...it obviously could hold more handwriting than art, if that's what you prefer. And how very nice it would be to combine the two...recording special thoughts and memories, while clipping in pretty pieces of this...and that...to inspire us!! Just something I wanted to try...and share. (I found the idea for this one in Crafts N Things, February issue, by Rebekah Meier) If you are interested in this one, remember to comment (Let me know what you would use it for!) and I'll share winners on the 20th! I'll have another to share in similar fabrics before the week is up! Stay tuned!!
Thanks for stopping in!!
Geri
Ohhhh! LOVE this! Such delicate/feminine fabrics. Who wouldn't want one? I'd use mine for a devotional journal. And, the fact that it doesn't have lines is fine - b/c I tend to write random thoughts scattered all over a page (and, do some doodling, too). Can't wait to see the other one you're making.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Geri! It would be lovely to win such a pretty journal! I would use mine for my Scripture Challenge Journal. My book is almost full! I always make a sketch of my finished page and materials used. I also list all the Scriptures I go through and make notes as I do my study! Either that or my Gratitude Journal, or my Prayer Journal, or my Devotional Journal! lol In other words...I think I would find a wonderful use for it! :o)
ReplyDeleteits beautiful!! i would love to use for jotting down notes and quotes that my 2 kiddos do and say!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric creations are always super spectacular Geri---just like this one. Oh my goodness this is lovely! Use! I don't know if I could dare make a mark in it. LOL I am trying to be more organized this year so I could use it to help me with that. It's working pretty good so far. I actually got your Valentine to you for Valentine's day! hee hee ha ha Huggsies to you my sweet friend! :-)
ReplyDeleteGeri, this is so pretty!! I'd leave it out on my dresser and put all kinds of things in. Clippings, quotes, pictures, favorite cards from my good friend that I can't part with, on and on and on. Another great job!!!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great job you did! I'm constantly thinking of idea's to create. card sketches, characters faces, a scene I'd like to paint. I have tons of little scrap papers that I doodle on. I get most of my inspiration on my 35 min drive to work (&back) so I'd keep the art journal in my car so I'd have something to keep up with all my inspirations! When I get ready to create-bring it in & be inspired!
ReplyDeleteThis is GORGEOUS! I would love for this to come live with me. I would use it for favorite quotes, things I'm thankful for, funny things my kids say and pretty little bits and pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. This is beautiful. I don't stop by your blog very often but you are on my favorites list. I think you must be a stitcher as well as a papercrafter. Nicely done :)
ReplyDeleteJust Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Geri! I've thought about having one of these to use for inspiration. Something to jot down ideas and sketches as they come to me! Love all the beautiful things you've used on this!
ReplyDeleteOh, it's BEAUTIFUL! I love this idea! I have sketchboooks everywhere, because I have taken too many art classes to count... now I use them mainly for card sketches (CONSTANTLY drawing), but sometimes I like to make notes of ideas I see and want to apply, and lots of times, my party plans end up in there with lots of sketches to go with it! I've never thought to pretty them up though!!
ReplyDeleteI've not done one, I've ideas stashed away, I've more ideas on Pinterest, and maybe with your little push forward, I'll get on it!!! I love them. Fascination...I've an undecorated one bedside, I job down some little quips, two line poems, musing thoughts.why didn't I?.A treasure for my sons to find someday.! Thanks for sharing your pretty little creation and inspiration.
