FUSION...pretty packaging...

Thursday, January 30, 2014

Hello, friends!  I've got a whole lot of red in store for you today with FUSION's newest challenge...

Yep...couldn't resist the packaging idea...I've been needing to experiment a little for this year's treats anyway.  I've been working on some little french fry boxes in sweet vintage prints I recently downloaded, and decided to use one as a template to create my own to match the FUSION inspiration...

I don't have a lot of washi, but I DO have a couple reds, and liked the idea of the tape for extra security.  (Don't you just cringe at the thought of the your pretty little package falling apart??? I was extra worried about these because the cardstock is stiff and heavy.  That tape was perfect for it!)  I used sentiments on today's card and packages from Avery Elle's 'Oh Happy Day' set.  I adore these sentiments!  The little flowers and leaves are from the same set.  This is a simple mini-card to match...

It fits inside my medium sized glassine bag...somewhere around 3.5x5.
Next I wanted to try some quick little bags to sell in the teacher's lounge as part of a fund raiser.
I've used my smallest bag here...about 2.5x4...

...it only has 5 kisses inside.  Thought it could be a fun little treat to find on a desk...from one teacher/teacher's assistant to another...

(The reds look much better in person.)
In case you're interested, I get my bags and doilies from Henny on Etsy, HERE.  Excellent service, prompt shipping, great prices, and so many pretty things to choose from!
Ok, I'll let you go now.  The rest of the team has LOTS of beautiful inspiration waiting for you!
Thanks so much for stopping in!  Have fun creating!!!

  1. Very pretty! hoe did you get the french fry box to be 2 different colors? Did you cut 2 and put the bottom half of one on the white one?
    Thanks

    1. Yes...that's what I did...almost like cutting two templates, although I saved a little red paper, knowing I didn't need the full template. Wouldn't want to do too many that way...a bit fussy!;) Thanks for your comment, Kim!

  19. Geri, your mini card and treat containers are so adorable and so clever and so pretty!! The giftee ones will be loved and the for-sale ones will be snatched up!

I have a question about your kisses hearts with the 'for you' across. I have trouble sticking anything to the glitter paper. Did you carve out a notch for the sediment? Please shoot me an email answer when you can; just in case I don't remember to check back here for your reply. Thank you!! Hugs, Darnell (darnell dot knauss at gee mail dot com)

  20. Geri, every single item you've created is just so beautiful! What lovely ideas! And you've given me a solution to my fear of boxes falling apart - washi! I don't have much washi either, although the majority of the few seem to be black and white! I used my one red washi in my project this week. ;-)
