Festive Friday 3...Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!!!

Friday, March 1, 2013

Happy Friday to you, my friends!  Glad you've dropped in!  I'm sharing my card for the 3rd Festive Friday challenge...

For this round, we have an element challenge...of incorporating a snowflake into your creation...

...It could be stamped, die cut, one of many, many snowflake embellishments out there, or even an ornament...it's up to you!  Mine was made from PTI's Snowflake Medley stamps and dies.  I've also used a little felt and some pearls.  And the rest of the card is fairly simple...

No big surprises here, but I do like the soft, cozy feel of it! I'm determined to put on some Christmas music while I create my next one!  It is so nice to be able to take my time in creating some pretty and heartfelt Christmas creations, without the pressure of knowing there are a thousand other things on a long holiday list to do.  But to fully enjoy it...I've gotta have a little Christmas spirit!  And for me...that's found in my favorite Christmas music!  (I never really wanted to turn it off anyway!)  It's never too late to join in on the fun, if you're interested.  If you care to head over to the blog, the rest of the designers will have additional inspiration waiting for you there...along with the announcement of the winner of the Rustic/Country theme challenge, and shout-outs of other designs that caught our eye.  This new challenge lasts for 2 weeks, and those completing at least 15 challenges by our last challenge in November will be entered in a drawing for a $40 gift certificate.
As always, I appreciate your visit!  Hope you have a great weekend!
~Geri~

  1. Awww, your card is just perfection, Geri! I love the soft feel! The white on white background is so fabulous. Really love the layered snowflake, and love the circle die cut opening behind it. The bit of felt adds a great touch, and really love what you did with the pearls. This is fabulous!

  5. You know, I didn't even realize it was felt when I first saw this one - but the first thing I thought was "I have to remember to layer these snowflakes when I use them!" - I LOVE how it looks. And what a neat layout - the cut out really makes the whole thing stand out.

You sound like Shirley - we have to hide the holiday CDs around August, because she's ready to put them on!!

  10. OK, you say "simple" but the word that came to mind when I saw your snowflake was "exquisite". Truly a tribute to the wonder of a snowflake. And love how you offset the focal point. Thank you for your oh-so-sweet bloggiversary wishes too :)

  12. You know me, it's never too early (or late) to work on Christmas things. I love that you listened to Christmas music. It's nice to have some quiet time to enjoy creating those lovely snowflakes, especially with snowflakes outside. Not too many, just very pretty. Love ya!

  15. Hi Geri, I love your snowflake and the addition of all the little pearls. It makes your card look so very elegant. I want to thank you so much for coming over to my blog and leaving me such an encouraging comment. I just love my cricut. I have taken online classes to learn how to use it,since I was a little over whelmed when I took it out of the box. I have also learned how to use the cricut classroom which is a free online program which you can download through www.cricut.com and you hook your cricut up to your computer and can design on it. Through this program you can buy digital cartridges which is how i ended up with the beautiful snowflakes. If you are ever interested in more information let me know and I can direct you to where you can go for classes, or free info for the cricut classroom. I am your newest follower and would love it if you follwed my blog too.
