What do you think about that photo inspiration??? I had to go with those fun, funky, retro images and colors, and see what I could come up with...
I really, REALLY wanted to use red enamel dots, but...I have none!!! So I switched out a true red polka dot banner for the softer, pink-y red one actually on my card...my deep pink dots worked fine with that, and still kept the color scheme similar. I really kinda like how this one turned out. I think it has a really cheery and fun look! I enjoyed it so much, I tried another...
...in another color scheme, just for fun. (Really loved the fun Paper Smooches sentiments for both of these!!!) I'm linking this one up to Addicted to CAS's 'get well' challenge. And that's all she wrote, folks! You'll find lots more FUSION inspiration at the blog, so be sure to visit to see the rest of the DT's fun cards! Thanks so much for taking the time to drop in today!

ReplyDeletevery fun fusion! i've made different colored dots from cheap nail polish from the dollar store. worth a try when you want a different color and there's all kinds of crazy color nail polish now.
ReplyDeleteOh, you're right, Betty!!! I had forgotten I'd heard that little tip before! I think I even have red polish!! Thanks for the reminder!!

ReplyDeleteOh Geri I remember that too, so I am right there with you. You modern design is just fantastic, and the technique of sponge daubing the centres is amazing. I will definitely try that!

ReplyDeleteI really need to add some of those dots to my stash. They look so cool. Both cards are wonderful cheery and fun.
ReplyDeleteBeen feeling a bit rough this week could use a few extra prayers of you've got time. Hugs!
What a fun and festive look! I love those flower centers with the colorful sponging - like mini fireworks!
ReplyDeleteGo marching bands!! Yes, my two sons are in the high school marching band. You had commented on my blog that you were also in the thick of it. It's a busy season, isn't it!! My oldest was also a sax player but switched to brass this year so he could try out for summer Drum Corps next year. My youngest is a trumpet player. I've often thought that the "athletes" in the school need to notice how hard the marching band works!
I agree, this is a fun and funky interpretation of the photo challenge, Geri! I love it both ways and I especially love that you kept on going w/o the red and made it work! This was a post that TRULY inspired!!
ReplyDeleteMission accomplished...your card screams "Retro"!!! The colors, the images, the patterns on the paper (I'm sure we had wall paper exactly like each of those....and likely had them 'happening' all at once too).
ReplyDeleteLove the enamel dots! Sweet design too !
The inking behind those funky flowers catches my attention right away :) I am amazed by the beauty of all ur card. U r ever brilliant
ReplyDeleteGreat combo of colors and patterns! And the layout is really special! Thanks for playing along at ATCAS.
