Festive Friday...FFC01...part 2...

Friday, February 8, 2013

Hello, everyone! There's some additional inspiration up at the Festive Friday blog for the first challenge there using these colors...

This CAS card from me may surprise you, but there's something about it I really like...

I told Meredith, the colors for this challenge were somehow calling,...'clean', 'simple',...'elegant'!!!  And that doesn't come so natural for me, but it's what you're gettin' from me this time around folks!

I would be just delighted for you to join us as we create a little Christmas all year long...and have some fun with each other while we do it.  Think of all the cards you'll have to share come December...and how great they're going to look because you weren't in a rush!!!  You've got one more week to get in on this first challenge, before we present Challenge 2!  So what are ya waitin' for!?!  Head on over to the blog, get inspired, and GET BUSY!!!

    1. I actually thought about making a note about the embossing in the post, Lisa...always feel like I talk too much;) On my first card, I stamped with silver ink and it was pretty, so I knew if I had issues with the embossing, I had a back up that worked, because I, too, have had issues. Also, I think I divided it up into two or three stamp/emboss turns, so that I wouldn't have to be as careful cleaning away stray powder before embossing. I have a tiny paint brush I use that helps get the stray stuff...but you probably do, too. I DON'T own an embossing buddy...good to know he's not always a friend!;) For some reason, this one just didn't give me fits...actually got it on the first try!!! Thanks for your sweetness, dear!!!

  3. This is gorgeous! What stamp is that? I love it! I just invested in some silver embossing powder, so I am going to have to break it out, and I love the O in your joy. So striking!

    1. There's another thing I should have included. PTI's Sending Sunshine comes with 3 different 'rays' (I think there are 3), so I chose 2 and alternated. Thanks, Miriam! So glad you like it! And by the way...you COULD put that new silver embossing powder on a creation for our challenge...there's still time!;) (Sorry...had to say it!!!)

  4. Geri this is incredible! So gorgeous! I too have had embossing problems. I always have stray powder even with trying several methods of "buddies". Anyway...love what you did. This is a stunning card! :) Jill

  8. Wow oh wow oh wow! Girl this is one awesome card! The stamping is incredible. I was thinking it was some kind of sticker embellishment and then my brain kicked in and I realized it was embossing. You rock chick! Hugs!
