Back to crafting with a PTI MIM project...

Friday, January 4, 2013

Oh, my achin' back never felt so good!!!  (Am I the only one who crafts on the floor...all hunched over my goodies?!?)  Feels SO GOOD to have made some time for creating today...it has just been too long!  (Yes, mama had started gettin' a little cranky!)  Have to be quick with this...almost time to get the critters!  I don't know if I have ever created for a Make It Monday, but I thought it looked like a great challenge to get me back in the crafting mode...the 'chalkboard technique'...

Now mine may be a little small and a little tidy from what I've seen, but it worked for what I wanted.  Thought if I was creating a chalkboard, it may as well be for my kids' poor neglected teachers...can't thank them enough!  I've used a couple different sets from PTI on it...School Time and Teacher's Apple.  (The little scroll image is from Waltzingmouse...so pretty, and added a needed femine touch to the board!)  I added some pretty layers of Crate Paper's 'Fourteen' collection with it...(Got me some, Char!!!)...

Love those colors!!!  They're just some of my all time favorites, and I thought they looked so nice with the little black chalkboard.  My only regret...here it is a brand new year...and it looks like I've reverted to an OLD layout!  Didn't really intend to do that,...just how it came together!  Fun, FUN challenge!!!  I'd really love to make another using this technique...we'll see!

Now...if I may...more old news, I guess...

The house all lit up with snow starting to fall before Christmas, and...

...my little Christmas Eve critters in their new jammies after getting their new ornaments opened and on the tree!  Ah!!!...what a wonderful holiday it was!!!  Happy New Year, my friends!!!  Thanks so much for stopping in today!

    3) I am extremely jealous that you're already playing with Fourteen. Mine is on transit from Cupid himself, apparently!

Love love LOOOOVE this card!! I had so much fun with this technique when Betsy first did it, not sure if I'll get to it before Monday again though. But SO appropriate for the teacher, and I love the way you framed it like an old slate. And all the layers and everything are just perfect!!

Side note: I love the lighting of your photo, too... the colours are really popping on the card, it's a great picture!
