~PTI August Blog Hop~

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful and sunny Sunday!  I'm glad you've popped in for my PTI Blog Hop cards...I have three to share!  You know...when the colors and sketches are given to you...half the work is DONE!!!;)  So the first is from this inspiration...

...not my normal colors, but I thought the sketch looked fun...even though I changed it up a little.  The sentiment was a little tricky with my narrow strips, but I settled on this...

...and here's the finished card using my Embellishments set...

Not knowing exactly where I was going with this card, I even wove the strips together.  Then I went and plopped a big ole blossom on top, and now you'd never know the trouble I went to!!;)  I'm not 100% happy with that one, but definitely thought it was worth sharing!  Next up was this pretty inspiration...

...now THOSE are my kinda colors!!!  Here's the first, using a border from Round and Round...

...and my personal favorite of the day, using my first EVER purchased PTI set, 'Guide Lines' (just a few years ago!)...

(...there's that pretty 'Hello' from 'Birds and Blooms'.)  I won't keep you  today!  With all the activities and crafting going on this weekend...I'm sure everyone is trying to move along quickly!  Enjoy, and thanks so much for stopping in!!!

  7. I love them all, and I think the first one is my favourite - I just really like what you did with the sketch. And I would have woven all those strips too, but I think the blossom is the way to go, so even though it covered up your work, it does finish the card nicely!

  8. Gerri, these are a "faint" on the swoon-meter. I think of stripes as being bold and graphic, an antiquated notion, if ever there were one, after seeing your stripes. Your last two cards are penultimate examples of making balanced, pale, wow cards. Your take on "elegant", always knocks my socks off!

Once again, thank you blogging, and the amazing sensibility of the way you share. I need to get back to my blog (think it's been two or three months). This last year has been one of the toughest in my 60 years, and I'm taking a long time to recharge my battery. Thank you for being a bright spot in my life.

  11. Busy girl! Your execution on that last card is breathtaking. Are you a Stamp-a-ma-jigger?

  12. You crack me up, Maria...you sound like ME!!! No, I'm not 'a stamp-a-ma-gigger'! Believe it or not, that was the first try...those little boxes are so easy to line up with paper pre-cut the right size to help!

  15. Golly, Geri, I aspire to be you so much. I make lovely cards, I won't diss myself, but I do wish I could attain that "something" that you have that makes your cards thicker, richer, more impactful, just impeccable in every way. You have no idea how much you inspire me!! Mwah! Darnell
