~Festive Friday and Precious Remembrance~

Friday, August 9, 2013

Happy Friday, my dear crafty friends!!!  Summer is just about over here...for all practical purposes, anyway...school starts Monday and my kids are getting excited!  It's been a great summer, and they have accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun, but this tired mommy is ready for a more predictable routine...and just a tiny bit more peace and quiet, I must say.  But that's next week...TODAY I have a couple creations to share...

There's a fun candy cane element challenge going on over at Festive Friday...

I hadn't had time to post my card for week one, so I have 2 to share today...

These retro style candy canes are humongous and are from a kit I bought last year on clearance...lots of fun elements...including the holly.  (Gold paint spatters from PR's Positive Thoughts, sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites #9)  And this week's totally different card includes some teeny tiny ones...

(Large sentiment from Technique Tuesday's, Jingle all the Way) So there's a week left in this element challenge, if you'd like to jump in...and more lovely second round inspiration from Meredith, and Sarah!

Every other Friday also holds a Precious Remembrance project, and today I have my final project with the Journey set posted...

...Daddy's framed 'birthday card'...(the card maker couldn't get inspired to make just a card...too much I wanted to include;)  Head on over to the blog for more photos and details.

Thanks so much for stopping in!  You can expect one more post from me later when the new FUSION challenge goes live at noon!

  4. Gerri, you are going to have the most beautiful collection of home made Christmas cards ever. Your simplicity is STUNNING! I love how you incorporate lace and ribbons into your work; very feminine, but not fussy. I think I've saved every one of your Christmas cards to serve as inspiration.

I've finally joined "Pinterest", and am learning how to use it. Would you mind if I started adding your cards to my board?

Your family is SOOO cute. (Looks like the Daddy genes are the ones that show up most often in the faces.) I love seeing pictures of them.

Hope the summer starts treating your neck of the woods in a more gentle manner. (I always think of farmers woes when the weather gets out of hand.) Looking forward to your next post!

  12. Uh, is that the perfect bow or WHAT? I love that you can create two such different cards for the same challenge - there's no way to pick a favourite! And your hubby's gift is so lovely - my favourite part is the photos of each kid in the film strips. An awesome post, Geri!!
