FUSION...in the knick of time!

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Hey, everyone!!  I was in bed, NOT sleeping last night...storms...kids afraid of storms...I'm sure many of you know THAT drill;)...and all of the sudden it hit me...the Fusion Challenge closes TOMORROW!!!!  Last week was Nursing Home card-making week and time got away from me!  (Oh, no...wonder what time it closes????)  I crossed my fingers that I would still have time to craft this AM, and luckily, I did!  Love this challenge...didn't want to miss it! Here's what we were working with this week...

Since Spring has finally come to Indiana, after what seemed to be the LONGEST wait...I'll work a floral theme into anything I can;)  Here's the flower I made as a centerpiece...

This was a super fast flower to make, from a strip of PTI felt about 9 1/2" long and 1 3/4" wide...folded in half long-ways, and stitched on one side... (made about a 2" flower...just scale down for smaller blossoms)...

Trim off any extra felt beyond the stitching you can get away with, and then make little snips down the folded edge between and 1/8th" and 1/4" apart...

Then roll it up tightly and glue down the end with a dab of hot glue.  (I also put a thin layer covering the bottom of the flower since there was so little glue used in the rolling.  You don't have to put anything in the center, but if you want to, just be creative...I used some silver pearl beads.  Here is how it worked into the card...

Once again I've 'fused' the inspirations.  I'm pretty sure that is a Hero Arts sentiment.  I liked how the vertical 'smile' worked with the sketch.  (went back and embossed the 'smile' portion with clear glittered embossing powder...)

The soft circular images are from the Precious Remembrance Positive Thoughts set, patterned paper is from MME, and the chevron is from a MFT die.  WooWee...gotta go get this linked up and visit a little!
Thanks Fusion Ladies!!!
And thanks to one and all for dropping in!!
Your comments were so very sweet on the last card!!!  I'm hoping to do a video soon on the flowers on that one!

  1. Oh Geri this is so wonderful! I love that beautiful felt flower and all the glittery touches. And I'm with you on not getting any sleep last night. Those storms were never ending. My girls slept right through them as usual, but I'm such a light sleeper that I got no rest. Take it easy today and keep creating!

  4. Wowzers girl.....this is stunning! First of all, thank you for the flower tutorial. I still haven't tried one of these beauties, but your card (and instructions) have me itching to give this a whirl!

I love the bold sentiment...it is the perfect partner for the dynamic bloom!

Is your glitter chevron inlaid? It does look like it is in the photo. Love the look of the sparkle nestled between the plain cardstock.

Your attention to detail is outstanding! The lightly stamped circles and the wee peak of green along the sentiment panel makes this card amazing! I'm calling Winner, Winner on this one !
