Fusion Challenge #10

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Hello!  I've squeezed a little time into some busy, busy summer days to create for the current (barely) Fusion Challenge...

I am a beach lover, but have to admit I have very little in the way of 'nautical' when it comes to card making. Certainly none of the new trendy images and sentiments that are out there.  But I did what I could with a more traditional style stamp from a set I have.  I did some 'painting' on watercolor paper after embossing in white...

I wanted to keep the colors REALLY soft...wasn't really working for detail here either,...just a soft washed and watery look.  I achieved that by first brushing on water, and then picking up color right off the tip of my watercolor pencils' tips with my aqua-flow brush.  I don't do this very often (although I really enjoy it when I do) so it took me a couple tries.  I was pleased with this final one, though.

Hope you've enjoyed your visit here today...I appreciate it!

  24. If the makers of this stamp, do not ask your permission to use this as an example of the highest art possible from their product, they're fools. Talk about using a stamp to its fullest potential! And what a revelation, that taking the color off the tip of the pencil, could be used in such a controlled way. I have no particular fondness for lighthouses, but I could live there happily for the rest of my life.

  25. You didn't think this would be any big deal, Geri! Heavens, girl, this would get my vote for Card of the Year 2013!! The layers and textures and water coloring and embossing and yet it looks non-fussy and soft and, well, delicious! So pinned and so deserving of another win for you from Fusion!! xxoo Darnell
