Finally...a little time to play...

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Hey, strangers! Finally have the kids in school for a full week and am getting back around to a little crafting. We so enjoyed the holidays...sad to see it all end...but here we are starting a fresh new year!
Just a couple cards today using some digital images from Rhonna Farrer. Not my typical cards, but the images were so pretty, I just had to get a kit and play around a little...
I cut the full image out with my Papertrey die, then did a little fussy-cutting with a couple extra copies of the image to layer and embellish...
Here's another image from the same kit, Spring Mix...
Love that little Melissa Frances frame from Henny!
(The inside of the card says, "Just me...thinking of YOU!)
Rhonna has lots of lovely, lovely images! I think their detail can be appreciated more in a larger version, rather than on these tiny cards (and in better light!! Sorry!!) She has lots of accents, fonts, and background papers...I just got this one kit to investigate with, but I know I'll be returning. I'm even gettin' the itch to do a little scrapbookin' just looking at all she has to offer!

I think that's it for today, but I'll be back soon. My nursing home card "demo" is ready. Now for the cutting and preparing of all the elements to make it happen on Thursday with the residents. It's a simple one, but I like how it turned out. I'm also finishing a card for The Shabby Tea Room for this coming Monday. When these two projects are done, I plan to devote what crafting time I have to some SERIOUS Valentine's love, with some new papers and embellishments. Can't wait!
So good to be back!! Sure have missed crafting with you all!!
Take care!
Geri

  4. The elegant background you made with that gorgeous shape is perfect for this card. I love everything " botanical". A bit different but just as stunning as your other projects...

Good to be here again; it has been while..

  6. Hi!!

I managed a post every day this week, it's a record... and the way I've been tackling projects, I might be able to do nearly the same next week, can you believe it?!

So I am using a different window... the window I usually use is alright on a really bright day, but winter is finally settling in on us, so it's super grey around here, and I am basically just tired of the set up. So I rummaged through Shirley's old goodies, and found the silver tray and doily that her aunt made way back when, and put it down next to a different window at a better time of day. So basically, it's taken on the floor of Shirley's living room!! But I thought the angle was kind of different and interesting, so I think I'll stick with it for awhile :D

Wonderful weather here, so nice for travel and the short jaunts. Doing some major organizing in the storage room!! My DH had as much as I had so was kinda fun to see him disorganized once. He dosen't know it yet, but I want a 1/2 bath put in at some point@!!!! Donating a lot/burning a lot!~ Enjoy and glad you got in some crafty time
