Fusion #19

Hey, Everyone!!!  Time for new FUSION inspiration...

I chose to go with the photo inspiration for this brand new challenge...I used the colors of pink and gray...a little darker...a little paler of each...and went with a birthday theme...

That's just a little layered punched flower. The petite leaves are from a WPlus9 set, and the sentiment and tiny pink flower are both from PTI sets.  You can see I used an impression plate (PTI) to add some pretty texture to the card face...

...which is slightly smaller than normal.  The card is 4" wide rather than 4 1/4", and just taking that 1/4" off the sides went a long way, with the elements/stamping used, in making it appear taller and slimmer...just not quite so chunky looking.  I felt it added to the elegant feel of the card.  I LIKE this one, gals...hope you do, too!  The ladies below all have additional inspiration for you you won't want to miss!

Head to the FUSION blog for the rest of the challenge details!
Thanks so much for dropping in today!!!

  8. Oh my Geri. Where to start? You're too young, but when I was growing up, pink and grey were all the rage during the 50's and 60's. (If you see an old bathroom in those colors, you pretty much know when it was built.) Ever since then, pink with grey (with some white or black thrown in) has been one of my top color schemes. The way you used those colors together absolutely knocks my socks off.

That 1/4" taken from the width of the card, is one of the details that sets you apart from the rest of the pack. I'm so happy that you mentioned it, because that detail would have totally eluded me. (Not only do I have a work of art when I visit, there is always something to learn from your work.)

Your pink paper flower is beautiful, but that black center is just so PERFECT with the whole composition. Really Gerri, you've plum blown it out of the water. Papertrey should be courting you to be on their design team. You truly are one of the best talents out there (in addition to being one of the nicest).

Thanks for sharing, and I'm happy to be signed up to get an email for each post. It would be a crime to miss even one of your beauties. Enjoy the fall (if you aren't too busy with all things harvesting).
