~Happy Birthday, 10 min. Craft Dash!~

Monday, August 12, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone!  Oh, my...a big sigh here, with a mixed bag of emotions...all three kids are off to start the 2013/14 school year as of this morning!  And they all went away excited...if only it was this easy EVERY morning!!!  Thought I may as well jump into a bit of crafting...to get my school year started of right!;)  I've been wanting to join in the fun and help celebrate this birthday...

...and I knew I couldn't invest a lot of time crafting today, so it was the perfect challenge for me!  I pulled out some favorites to inspire me...Simple Stories...

...thought those sweet little balloons would be perfect for a friendly birthday greeting. And my time???...

...just over 10.  I could have done it, but I had a couple issues...I had die cut my first little cloud with the text upside down.  (And that little one is the one that's hard to get out of the die...especially when you're in a hurry.) I am glad I noticed before I stuck it on, though. And...I accidentally pulled the adhesive off my chipboard piece.  Since I was in a hurry...I had zipped off enough of it that I thought I'd better go ahead and carefully take it all off and just glue it.  Without those two issues, and without stamping...it really was a quick and easy card!

Congratulations, Paulina, on your fun little challenge turning 1!!!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great week!

  2. Cute cute card Geri!! I love the bouquet of heart balloons. Can't believe school is starting already. I think they should have until after Labor Day. But I think there might be some moms who disagree LOL!! Anyway, hope it's a good year for all of you!!

  10. Precious! I love the balloons and the mix of papers on the clouds. I'd say you definitely came in under ten minus the uncooperative crafty bits. Hugs!

  11. Oh my school is coming for us too! I always have mixed emotions as my little one goes back! We have a couple weeks yet!

Your card is so pretty! I always have to use a piece of scotch tape to get my clouds out! It is hard! :). And I cannot tell you how many times I have cut things backwards or upside down! :). The end result is this gorgeous card with that sweet sticker! Love it Geri!

  16. You are too funny! Your cards are always so perfect it's nice to know you have mortal issues when making them!! It's an amazing card! Are those little heart buttons or are they making heart-shaped sequints now?!! Just adorable, Geri!!

It will be a transition period adjusting to having the kids back in school. It's always a bittersweet time for a few days. Okay, for an hour and a half!!
