~this and that~

Hello, everyone! So glad you could stop in this weekend. I may have a few more posts than usual in the next few days.  As you know, PTI has begun their anniversary festivities with lots of fun challenges and prizes to be won, so...heck yeah, I'll play!!!  If you don't care to comment on these extra posts, I certainly understand! I know everyone is busy and there's a lot going on out there in blog land...I'm not doing such a hot job of keeping up myself.  I was able to combine several into one today, though.  First of all a sketch/color combo challenge from PTI.  There were lots to choose from, here are the two I chose...

I used the new Doodle-Do set and colored my image with pencils...then used my water brush, which does change the colors a bit...

Everything looks much softer, which is fine with me, and the red took on a pink cast, so I added the pink dot instead of red.  Can't help it...it just looked better, and I needed a pretty card for my brand new daughter-in- law.  Couldn't resist using a doily for my circular image in the sketch...

I added the same flower in a couple corners of the card, in Pure Poppy this time, and after stamping it off once, to keep it soft.  It has a bit of a tropical feel, which was what I was going for since they are currently stationed in, of all places, Hawaii.  (poor souls)
OK...I'd better get this moving...the next one was a struggle from beginning to end.  The challenge of the seven supply card done in 17 minutes...YIKES...not for me.  Totally pitched the first one, and am only posting this one because I want to have a chance at the prize!;) It was done in 17 minutes and 8 seconds...although I'm gonna blame that 8 second overage on trying to use the very last inches of dimensional foam tape on my roll...it slowed me down people!!!

(I don't think this card will be going to anyone.)  I used 1, the Friends 'til the End set, 2, H.Burst ink, 3, S. Shadow ink, 4, patterned paper, 5,  Rustic W. cardstock, 6, jewel, 7, scissor to fussy cut.
Thank goodness that's over!
Finally...if you follow Festive Friday, we started a new challenge a week ago...

Here's what I did with this challenge...

There's still a week to join in if you'd like to head over to the blog for details and more inspiration.  I'm not overly proud of this card, for some reason the whole thing was a struggle...but the rest of the team really has some gorgeous inspiration...I think some of the best we've had yet!!!
Thanks again for stopping in!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  9. Jeepers! You have been one busy woman. The first PTI card is fantastic. I love the way you toned down the colors and backed them with great white textures that play well with the white embossed images. PTI and you just go together. The PTI 7 item challenge was a killer. I also had a slightly longer time getting removable tape removed.

Your Festive Friday challenge card is simple perfection. I've never quite cottoned to the star stamps in that set, but I LOVE them on this card. The "merry" is amazing. Is it a die cut, and did you emboss it? It's mesmerizing.

Have fun this week, and thank you for taking the time to leave me comments, especially when there are more cards than a body could make in one week at PTI, alone.

  10. I've been playing along with PTI also. Love the doily. I struggled with the 17 minute challenge too, I finished under time, it was the 7 supplies I struggled with. I think your card turned out fine. And if you aren't happy with it maybe you can add or change some things. I'm going to add to mine.

  13. Sigh. Yep, you do nice work. I especially like the top card for your brand new DIL (congrats!!). Where is that doily from? Is it Wilton? Months ago, I noticed Wilton changed the design of their mini doilies and I don't care for it as much. This one is lovely.

Thanks so much for leaving love at my place recently, and Happy Valentine's Day!
